NAHTHAN is the solo project of Nathan Reimer, a composer and performer searching for experiences in sound, synthesizers, and sight. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Wendy Carlos, Mort Garson, Hiroshi Yoshimura, Tōru Takemitsu, and Hugh LeCaine, NAHTHAN explores sonic textures that navigate the spaces between noise and music.
My interest in experimental sound was sparked during electroacoustic studies with Dr. Michael Matthews, who introduced me to the expressive potential of electronic and manipulated sound.
Reimer steps outside of stylistic boundaries and embraces a deeply personal form of sonic exploration. It is an attempt to write free from rules, whether imposed by genre or habit. It is a project rooted in curiosity, shaped by the moment, and driven by a love of sound.
